HND Health Information Management

Overview

Health Information Management (HIM) integrates healthcare, technology and management to ensure the efficient handling of medical data and patient records. The curriculum combines foundational coursework with practical application across health informatics, biostatistics and database management.

Students gain hands-on experience in real healthcare settings through practicum and project work, and are introduced to advanced topics such as healthcare quality improvement, health-technology innovation, disease control and occupational safety.

Entry Requirements

• ✓WASSCE: aggregate 42 or better — grades A1–C6 in three core subjects (English, Mathematics, Integrated Science) and A1–E8 in three relevant electives.
• ✓SSSCE: aggregate 27 or better — grades A–D in the three core subjects and A–E in three relevant electives.
• ✓Mature applicants without the minimum qualification but with relevant experience may apply, subject to an entrance examination and interview.
• ✓International applicants: qualifications evaluated by WAEC; proof of English proficiency required for non-English-speaking applicants.
