In response to this growing healthcare need, Martin Luther Health Training School, Kintampo, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, Ghana Tertiary Education Commission (GTEC), and the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), offers a Bachelors in Post-Basic Specialised Emergency Nursing Programme designed to equip nurses with advanced clinical knowledge, specialised competencies, and leadership skills required in modern healthcare delivery.

The programme is structured to prepare healthcare professionals to provide high-quality emergency nursing care while meeting both national and international standards of practice.

Professional Certification

Graduates of the programme may become eligible for:

  • Associate Membership with the Ghana College of Nurses and Midwives (GCNM).

Successful graduates will be awarded a Bachelor of Science (BSc.) degree from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST).

Programme Duration

The programme spans four (4) semesters and is intensive, practical, and clinically focused.

General Entry Requirements

Prospective applicants are expected to:

  • Be medically fit (no age limit).
  • Demonstrate interest and commitment to specialised nursing practice.
  • Possess any of the following qualifications:
    • Diploma in Registered General Nursing (RGN)
    • Diploma in Midwifery
    • Registered Mental Health Nursing
    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in General Nursing or any nursing-related field
  • Be graduates of an accredited nursing institution.
  • No prior work experience is required.
  • No current PIN is required.
