SABU MONICA AWEWUTAGI

I am submitting my application for the George Agbenyikey Memorial Scholarships, which I heard will benefit Martin Luther College bound students who have financial needs. I am a level 100 student of Martin Luther Health Training School Kintampo pursuing HND Dispensing Technician Programme.

My interest in the Dispensing Technician field of work began when my mother once visited the hospital and was given wrong medications at hospital dispensary unit. These medications caused severe side effects and nearly took her life. But thanks to the Physicians who immediately helped to rescue her. From that day, I developed interest in the work knowing that most dispensing technicians are not very conversant with the medications they dispensed to patients. I firmly believe that my personal and academic skills will be put to good use in studying the course work and will enable me to become an efficient professional in the field. However, as is the case of most who pursue tertiary education, the expenses are quite hard to accommodate, especially if one’s financial status barely makes the minimum.

Still, I am not disheartened to pursue my dream of becoming a pharmacist. I trust in my thirst for learning, and I know that I will be more than willing to do what it takes to push through college. The financial assistance from your scholarship grant would be a great help to me, since I am still looking for ways to earn money to pay for my college fees. If fortune favors me and I am awarded scholarship, nothing of the amount will be laid to waste.

Thank you very much for your time and consideration. Enclosed with my application is my admission letter and school for Level 200 HND Dispensing Technician Programme.

I hope to hear from you soon.
